Steinberg
Wavelab Essential is a fast and flexible audio editor that offers a
range of indispensable digital audio editing features, from CD writing
functions to comprehensive mastering possibilities. Based on WaveLab
5.0 technology, the software delivers outstanding quality for the
project studio.
Real-time
VST and DirectX Audio plug-ins are supported within Steinberg Wavelab
Essential as is MP3 encoding and decoding. A wide variety of effects
are included, ranging from reverbs, EQ to various dynamic processors.
Files with different bit depths up to 32-bits with up to 96kHz
resolution are supported, as are the major file formats. Off-line
functions include time stretching, pitch shifting and pitch bend. The
software also provides automatic pitch recognition and pitch
adjustment, 3D FFT and audio analysis.
Steinberg
Wavelab Essential also contains the Audio-Montage user interface,
although with a reduced feature set when compared to WaveLab 5.0. Clips
can be assembled on two tracks and processed with virtual effects.
Superimposing two clips automatically generates a crossfade in
real-time and a variety of preset fades are included. Additionally,
individual clips in Audio-Montage can be defined as CD tracks and burnt
directly to CD. CD burning is Red-Book compatible with on-the-fly CD
burning that includes all plug-ins. A label editor for creating CD
covers is included, plus the software supports data and mixed mode CD
burning and ISO image.
