The PreSonus FaderPort puts feel, vibe, and efficiency back into computer recording and production. No more clicking through menus and drawing automation edits with a mouse. It is the first of its kind, a single-fader USB controller that can write single and group channel volume, pan and mute automation. The FaderPort features a high-quality, 100mm motorized ALPs long-throw fader with the feel needed for recording perfect fades and writing automation in realtime. A dual-servo motorized drive belt system makes automation smooth and precise while 1024-step resolution lets you write ultra-fine, accurate fades and adjustments.

Pan, mute, solo, and record enable can also be easily controlled along with window selection, play, stop, record, and managing markers (locate points) for fast and easy recording. A footswitch jack is also included for handsfree punch-in/out recording. The FaderPort works with all Mac- or Windows-based recording software including Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic, Nuendo, Sonar, and more.

Nice piece of gear, well built the fader moves smoothly and it seems like it will last a long time. I like the way things are layed out on the device, it makes sense as if they put a but of thought into it. In short, it does what it is supposed to do, and is exactly what it is advertised as: a high quality single channel control surface. But then again it is $199 for a single channel device, that's all I need (or have the room for) so for the price it was the right choice for me.
