The Fox is supposed to compete with the standard Shure SM58, I tested it in typical A&B test setting using and M-Audio NRV-10. I used a Shure Beta 58 not the standard 58, which is probably a but of a stretch for the Fox to compete with, I likely should have used a regular 58 but didn't have one on hand. Anyway the Fox did pretty well, it could not quite match the high end of the Beta but it had excellent high-mid punch and performed nicely from 2 kHz down. The Fox had good off-axis rejection and low handling noise. It also displayed a very high tolerance (SPL-wise). It seems quite very well built too, I would expect you can beat it up as you would any of the better known brands.

The Beta 58 is around $149-$189 depending on where you get it, the 3 pack of these Fox mics starts around $269 at some clueless dealers, but from around $89-$119 from most. I would says they are more than worth that small price, this is an excellent all around mic, and a steal at the current price!
