The Micro Express (serial/parallel version) is
a mini version of the MIDI Express XT. It has many of the same features
as the Express XT - except that it is smaller and even more affordable.
The micro Express is a half-rack unit with 4 inputs and 6 outputs.
USB Compatibility
MOTU has now developed a full line of USB MIDI
interfaces. The Micro Express is also available in USB compatible
format. MOTU's USB MIDI interfaces under both MacOS and Windows and
they adhere to the high standards of their current line of serial and
parallel interfaces - the only difference is that you connect them
using USB.
MOTU USB interfaces support hot swapping, so
you never have to power down or restart your computer. Unlike other USB
interfaces, you don't have to 'scan' when you add or remove them. And
talk about expansion! You can mix and match any combination of MOTU USB
interfaces to suit your MIDI I/O needs. Some folks out there might try
to scare you with stories about "random reboot" problems, but rest
assured. MOTU USB interfaces are specially designed to support multiple
interfaces on a network so that you'll never experience any problems.
