Which keyboard do I want? Audio/Midi keyboards operate as midi controllers but also provide capabilities such as plugging a microphone directly into the keyboard. Digital pianos provide audio sound and many also double as midi controllers. MIDI controllers are keyboards that do not contain any sound on their own and are meant to control computer software or other MIDI devices and cannot be used as a stand alone product.
