Reviews Author: MrMagic I purchased this product (without the CD burner) because I had previously worked with a Fostex VF08 and also because it is the only 16 tracker in the price range but was massively disappointed to find out that it has no facility to change the EQ on individual tracks on mix down. I don't know if this was an oversight in the development or a decision based on their supreme confidence that their input settings were so good that no such function would be necessary at mixdown but I think it is ridiculous. I wrote to Fostex to enquire about this as I originally thought that I must not have been reading the instruction manual correctly and even the staff member on their support desk was surprised to find that this functionality simply had been excluded from this Fostex multitracker. I took it back to the shop I bought it from and got a BOSS BR600 instead. It is incredible, the recording and production quality is unbelieveably good (but if you buy one get a 1GB memory card to go with it as you will quickly outgrow the 128MB memory that it comes with). Author: Briteboy Hey, you can't do better than this for the money. Easy, intuitive and excellent quality for a portable unit. Great reverb and delay effects. No, you can't adjust EQ for each individual track during mastering but there are about 40 input EQs that can be selected when recording the tracks. As simple as selecting EQ, doing a record check to be sure you have your preferred tone going in, then record the track. BUT, you do have three global EQ options during the mastering process, of course, it is applied to all tracks. The beauty of this unit is its affordable features and quality as well as its simplicity with top controls. I recommend it unless you are looking to do some major recording and desire to tweak every note of every track. Author: Skodster I too bought mine after owning a brilliant VF-08 for some years.
