These are great and common to many keyboards that use Fatar keybeds. You may notice when installing on the circuit boards that the small rubber tabs do not insert completely and cause the rubber boot to not be flat on the surface. If you can cut a skinny piece of plastic, you can push the tab through with it. Or maybe a tooth from a plastic comb. Twist when pulling back out and it should stay there.

Some of the notes are louder than others, why is this? could the rubber contacts be put in wrong?

This is the greatest thing since sliced bread! If your keyboard is acting up, like notes not sounding, or not sounding consistently, ot velocity is uneven, order 8 of these, take your unit apart, pull up the strips one at a time, clean the circuit board contacts with denatured alcohol, then, using straightened out paper clips, push these new strips into place (make sure to note the orientation, since the 2 contact buttons are of different heights!!!!) then reassemble, and all your problems should be gone. Give this project a whole day, and have a power screwdriver handy. It made my SL-880 showroom new again!
