As
the much anticipated answer to one of the top requests from Pro Tools®
users, the ultra-small Digidesign Mbox® 2 Micro enables Pro Tools users
to edit, sequence, and mix sessions created on Pro Tools|HD®, Pro Tools
LE®, and Pro Tools M-Powered™ systems on the go, as well as compose
music with virtual instruments and loops.
About the size of a typical USB flash drive,
the Digidesign Mbox 2 Micro offers high-quality 24-bit / 48 kHz sound,
a 1/8-inch stereo output for headphone or speaker monitoring (no audio
inputs*), and a convenient volume wheel, providing you with the freedom
of true editing, sequencing, and mixing mobility. Whether you’re
looking to work on studio-created or live sound Pro Tools sessions on
the go, or create loop-based or virtual instrument-driven music, Mbox 2
Micro lets you work wherever inspiration takes you.
Edit and Mix On the Go
Forget about being cooped up in a recording
studio or post-production suite; Mbox 2 Micro gives you the freedom to
leave your Pro Tools interfaces behind and take your sessions anywhere
you and your laptop computer can travel — whether it’s for business or
for pleasure. With its robust, anodised aluminium design and diminutive
size, you can simply tuck Mbox 2 Micro into any pocket and get ready to
welcome the world as your new control room or editing suite.
Mbox 2 Micro comes with award-winning Pro Tools
LE software, enabling you to open, edit, and mix your existing Pro
Tools|HD-, Pro Tools LE-, or Pro Tools M-Powered-created sessions in
high-fidelity audio. Play back sessions with up to 24-bit / 48 kHz
high-quality audio, and enjoy access to the wide range of professional
Pro Tools plug-ins and virtual instruments available (for higher sample
rate Pro Tools|HD sessions, be sure to down-convert the sessions using
your studio setup prior to using Mbox 2 Micro). Mbox 2 Micro even
supports Music Production Toolkit and DV Toolkit™ 2 options, enabling
you to work on larger projects (up to 48 stereo tracks) while on the
road.
Create Music Anywhere
While Mbox 2 Micro is an output-only audio
device, it also serves as a simple music creation studio thanks to the
included Pro Tools LE software, bundled software, and wealth of
compatible virtual instruments and plug-in options available.
Easily import audio files, MIDI files, and
loops into Pro Tools, and edit and mix them to create musical
masterpieces. Plug in a USB MIDI keyboard into your computer and
capture an amazing virtual instrument performance in Pro Tools — one
that you can admire for posterity or tweak to perfection. Or route
compositions from your favorite ReWire-compatible applications right
into Pro Tools for further tweaking and mixing.
Mix Last Night’s Show on the Road
If you’re a Digidesign® VENUE live sound system
engineer, Mbox 2 Micro makes it easy and super convenient to mix your
live sound recordings while you’re on the way to the next gig. Whether
you recorded the shows on an integrated Pro Tools|HD or Pro Tools LE
system, Mbox 2 Micro allows you to open and work with the sessions
outside of your usual rig. And because many of the plug-ins you use
during the live shows are also available for Pro Tools LE, you’ll have
access to much of the same professional processing in the tour bus with
Mbox 2 Micro as you would with VENUE in front of the stage.
Little But Loaded
Sure, it’s small, but Mbox 2 Micro comes fully
loaded with a big assortment of creative software and processing
plug-ins to mix and master your sessions to completion — over 45
plug-ins! Along with powerful Pro Tools LE software and Xpand!, Mbox 2
Micro also includes a collection of Bomb Factory® plug-ins, which offer
powerful effects and utilities from the makers of some of the very best
digital emulations of classic analog processors in the industry, and
DigiRack™ plug-ins, which offer a wide variety of professional
real-time and file-based effects and studio utilities that are ideal
for bringing your mixes to life.
