The Digidesign® DV Toolkit™ 2 option for Pro
Tools LE™ systems provides a comprehensive collection of tools for
producing high end sound for film or video. Whether you need a mobile
solution that gives you access to many of the same post production
features as full Pro Tools|HD® systems or a cost-effective entry to the
world of sound for fi lm, DV Toolkit 2 delivers professional audio for
your picture projects. DV Toolkit 2 adds even more features to the
original DV Toolkit, making this package an even greater value.
Use the included DigiTranslator™ 2.0 option to import projects from video editing applications, such as Avid Xpress® software. Record voiceovers and Foley, remove unwanted background noise, replace on-camera dialog, or add music. Edit and sweeten with the included collection of post production plug-ins and the wide variety of specialized editing and session management capabilities previously available only with Pro Tools® TDM systems. Building on the utility of the original DV Toolkit, DV Toolkit 2 adds more post-specific Pro Tools functions, the DigiBase™ Pro file management tool, TL Space™ Native Edition convolution reverb, the Pro Tools MP3 Option for exporting mixes as MP3 fi les, plus the ability to expand your sessions up to 48 mono or 48 stereo tracks at 96 kHz. Essential Post Production Plug-ins DV Toolkit 2 includes three powerful plug-ins that are ideal for working with sound for picture. TL Space Native Edition Use TL Space to instantly add realism to your fi lm or video project by accessing a full range of authentic acoustic environments. Choose from the chambers, rooms, and halls included as part of the comprehensive library of reverb and effect impulses, or import additional impulses to quickly expand your palette. The TL Space convolution reverb delivers the sound of real reverberant spaces with the familiar controls used in high-end hardware reverb units. By combining sampled acoustics and advanced algorithms, TL Space provides stunning realism with full control of reverb parameters in mono and stereo formats, directly from within the Pro Tools environment. DINR LE Clean up on-location sound rapidly. DINR™ LE, an AudioSuite™-only version of the original, award-winning DINR TDM plug-in, effectively reduces unwanted noise—from street sounds to air conditioner rumble—for cleaner audio. Since DINR analyzes and subtracts noise entirely within the digital realm, the results can be virtually free of side effects. Synchro Arts VocALign Project for Pro Tools Use VocALign Project for Pro Tools to synchronize dialog to video, dub foreign language fi lms, tighten Foley and sound effects tracks, fi ne-tune the timing of one music track to match another, or achieve a perfectly lip-synched performance for a music video. VocALign stretches or squeezes one audio signal to match the timing patterns of another, automatically, making editing fast and easy. DigiBase Pro The DigiBase fi le management tool (included with Pro Tools LE software) offers powerful ways to view content on all mounted volumes (disks), search across multiple volumes simultaneously, audition files, and copy, rename, and move fi les easily. DV Toolkit 2 offers DigiBase Pro—an advanced version of DigiBase previously available only with Pro Tools TDM systems. With DigiBase Pro, you can create and share custom catalogs for quick and easy access to sounds or files associated with a project. DigiBase Pro streamlines storing and searching for material in a logical, project-oriented environment. It is a valuable tool for working with the large number of files and volumes that can add up on fi lm or video projects DigiTranslator 2.0 DigiTranslator 2.0 makes the complex process of file interchange simple and dependable. DigiTranslator seamlessly converts and exchanges OMF®, AAF, and MXF files between Pro Tools systems and Avid® workstations— as well as other OMF 2.0–, AAF-, and MXFcapable audio and video applications. DigiTranslator is completely integrated with Pro Tools and includes a full range of file exchange options so you can import or export files directly from within Pro Tools. Extended Pro Tools Functionality DV Toolkit 2 extends the functionality of your Pro Tools LE software, adding key capabilities for working with sound for fi lm or video. Many of the added features will already be familiar to post production pros, providing a seamless transition from Pro Tools|HD to Pro Tools LE systems. Time Code and Feet + Frames Functions DV Toolkit 2 adds a Time Code ruler to the Edit window to make it easy to spot sounds and sound effects according to Time Code or Feet + Frames values. Replace Region and Edit to Timeline. Selection Commands Use the Replace Region function to quickly replace multiple instances of a sound effect, room noise, loop, or any other kind of audio region with another one. Select the Edit to Timeline Selection mode to let Pro Tools LE software automatically expand or compress the replacement region to fi t within a specified amount of time. Scrub Trim Tool Use the Scrub Trim tool to quickly audition audio, select a trim point, and simultaneously trim the region at that point, simply by releasing the mouse. Export Session Text With the Export Session Text capability, it’s easy to communicate essential session information, including the session’s sample rate, bit depth, and time code format plus the edit decision list (EDL)—a list of all edits with their time code in and out points. Continuous Scrolling Familiar to many post production pros, continuous scrolling allows the cursor to sweep continuously across an updating track display. Universe Window Use the Universe Window to get a fast visual overview of all tracks in a session and to navigate quickly to any location. The Universe Window is a vital tool for the large sessions that are common in sound-for-picture projects. More Audio Tracks DV Toolkit 2 expands your Pro Tools LE system to up to 48 mono or 48 stereo tracks at up to 96 kHz so you can create larger, more complex mixes. Whether you’re creating a mammoth soundtrack or managing a large session with dialog, Foley, music, and more, DV Toolkit 2 gives you the tracks you need. With support for up to 96 kHz (using a 96 kHz–compatible interface), you can capture and work with those tracks in full fi delity. Pro Tools MP3 Option By including the Pro Tools MP3 Option, DV Toolkit 2 makes it easy to listen to a new mix on a portable device or quickly share it with other members of the project team. Bounce a mix to an MP3 fi le so you can send music ideas to a director, producer, studio, fi lm editor, or music supervisor. The MP3 Option uses the original Fraunhofer MP3 algorithm to deliver high-quality results. With a full range of conversion options, the Pro Tools MP3 Option gives you a simple way to bounce mixes directly to MP3 without having to use another application. Post Production Made Easy DV Toolkit 2 makes it easy to build a fully functional, cost-effective, and mobile post production solution on a Pro Tools LE system.
