Pro Quality Sampler Translations

Translator is the universal translator for all the crazy pro sampler sound formats that are offered: Akai, SampleCell, Roland, Ensoniq, GigaStudio, Emu, HALion, etc. Translator takes most major professional disk and file formats and translates between them. That means reading, interpreting, and writing between different systems.

For example, take any E-mu CD-ROM. Translator™ can convert one of it's Samples, or Presets, or Banks - or the entire CD-ROM - into Akai format, and then write it directly to an Akai-formatted hard drive for playback on an Akai sampler (or any Akai-compatible sampler).

• View the entire contents of a proprietary formatted hard drive or CD-ROM. Propritary formats include Ensoniq, Emu, Akai, Roland, Kurzweil samplers, along with the capability to read Mac disks.
• Copy-read sound files (individual wavedata, Presets/Programs/Instruments/Patches etc...) onto your computers hard drive for backup and storage, or write that sound onto any other propritary format hard drive - Translator translates the sound into the new format, for use in the respective sampler.
• Translates most popular DOS-based formats, such as Gigasampler, HALion, EXS-24, Reality, Reaktor, SoundFonts, .WAV, AIFF, Pulsar, and more.
• Audition samples directly from the hard drive or CD-ROM through your computer sound card.
• Format any proprietary disk with the Ensoniq, Emu, Akai, Roland, SampleCell, or Kurzweil format.
• Create CD-ROM Image files of any format - these become Virtual Drives which you can write files into, then you can burn a CD-ROM from it using most popular CD-ROM burning programs.

Translator Windows

The Windows version was debuted in September 1999, and has thousands of users in existence. It continues to be updated and refined, with new translations being added daily.

Translator Mac

Sample audition, viewing of proprietary disks, extraction of samples, and other features are included.

Now you can have access to your Akai, Roland, Emu, Ensoniq, and Kurzweil CD's and hard disks in your Mac. The Mac and PC versions share the same code base, and code is being transferred daily to the Mac structure. Chicken Systems is currently transferring 3-4 translations daily. This version uses the exact same high quality translations that Translator™ Windows is known for.

In you would only like to translate into one specific format and no more, you might have a use for a Special Edition of Translator, which sells at a lower price. The Translator EXS-24 Edition, HALion Edition, and SampleCell Edition are now dual-platform - for one price you can use the program either on Windows or Mac. These Special Editions translate from all sources to one specific destination.
