Pro Tools Mbox with a pair of ultra-transparent custom mic preamps and a
set of phenomenal 24-bit/96kHz converters, giving it absolutely
astounding sound quality. The Pro Tools Mbox even includes a pair of
Softclip limiters, the same tape-saturation-style dynamics processors
found on Avid's flagship HD series interfaces!
The Pro Tools Mbox also comes equipped with a built-in guitar tuner and a
dedicated DSP engine for cue mixing with reverb. Now, you can add
reverb or delay to vocals as you record, without worrying about latency
or having to manage cumbersome outboard gear. There's also a
super-useful assignable Pro Tools multifunction button right on the face
of the Pro Tools Mbox. This button gives you fast access to software
functions inside of Pro Tools, including record arming and on-the-fly
track creation. And, although the Pro Tools Mbox comes with Pro Tools
LE, impressive new ASIO, Core Audio, WDM, MME, and multiclient drivers
allow it to integrate easily with any DAW.

The Express program offers 16 stereo audio tracks as well as virtual
instrument and MIDI tracks. It allows users to record at either 96kHz
(Mbox) or 48kHz (Mbox Mini) resolution, and features many of the same
advanced tools found in regular Pro Tools, including Automatic Delay
Compensation, Elastic Time and Elastic Pitch. In addition, the program
features a collection of plug-ins (30 in all), including AIR virtual
instruments, effects and utility tools.
